Michael Ots Evangelism

Why a trust?

The aim in setting up MOET is not to build an empire or compete with other good evangelistic organisations. Rather it aims to ‘do exactly what it says on the tin’- a trust to support Michael Ots to do evangelism. The benefit of being a trust is that support can be tax efficient. It also provides good accountability and oversight.

What will I be doing?

Most of the time working with existing organisations, preaching and speaking at evangelistic
opportunities as well as providing training and teaching. Some of the main areas of involvement
will be:

Student Work

Working closely with UCCF, supporting University Christian Unions to reach out with the Gospel.
Annually, working with up to ten CUs across the UK, helping them to plan their mission strategy and speaking at house parties, carol services and mission weeks – some of the best evangelistic opportunities in the UK today and often very fruitful.

Church Preaching and Missions

Equipping churches to be passionate about reaching their friends for Christ, motivating them and
speaking at events.

Romania

Working with a church plant. Supporting the pastor. Taking teams of young people from the UK to run missions. Establishing a youth/children’s camp for the area and training up Romanian leaders.

International Students

Leading one of the Friends International summer teams reaching out to language students from around the world. Training up team members to be equipped to do international student evangelism throughout the year in universities across the UK.

Kids Work

Sharing the Gospel with the next generation.

Youth Opportunities

Speaking at youth events/weekends/camps across the UK and in Latvia. Discipling young people and equipping them to reach others with the Gospel.

Evangelistic Resources

Writing resources to equip the church in explaining the Christian faith clearly and with relevance.

Where will I be based?

In Bournemouth where my home church will continue to be Lansdowne Baptist Church. The local church is really important and it is vital to remain an active part of a church family.

Who am I accountable to?

I will be accountable to the trustees of MOET.
They are:

David Pickard – former General Director of OMF
Mike Reynolds – Elder at LBC.
Naomi Dawson – Team Leader for UCCF in the South East.
Judith Berry – Member of LBC mission council.
David Sinclair FCCA – Treasurer

How can you be involved?

Praying

Prayer is vital to the work of evangelism. Paul said ‘pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ… Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.’ Colossians 4:3,4

If you would like to be involved in praying for the work you can receive a prayer letter each quarter with reports of recent work and an itinerary of future missions and opportunities. There is a blog on the web site with up-to-date information, stories and news.

Giving

There is also the opportunity to support the work. The trust will be supported by individual Christians who share a passion for the Gospel and a desire to see it made known to as many as possible.

You could give each month to support the ongoing work or a one off gift to help in purchasing some of the essential equipment needed to start out. The ‘partners’ page on the web site will provide up to date information about current levels of support. Just log in using the password – ‘supporter’. Full financial records will also be available to any supporter upon request.
